My lug nuts have more torque then a Honda engine puts out.

haha

honda engines rarely make any power unless you boost them out the *ss. they do their job of being a commuter car pretty well, but they aren't performance cars. this seems to be a hard concept for any teenager who has seen the fast and the furious. I remember once on the highway in my brothers 72 buick skylark some kid was weaving through traffic behind us in a talon, as he was about to try and pass us my bro tapped the go pedal and shut that gap tight. nothing like 3800 pounds of A-body to shut up some ricer.

A Talon can be a respectable car, still not my cup of tea really... But my brother had a few of them and one of them was fast as hell. Surprised many a muscle car and Corvette driver I can tell you.

Those talons rule the streets around here in the ville. Its insane how quick those cars are...and believe me, there are some FAST rides out this way. I'm talkin low 5s in the eighth

My all time favorite Honda quote; "Wait 'til the VTEC kicks in!"

the reason you have to wait till it kicks in is cause those sewing machine engines have no torque.....and if you read Honda's explanation of it it's for fuel efficiency, not performance. A friend of mine who owns a transmission shop loves those guys who hop up their hondas. He says he's rebuilt so many of those trannies he can do it with his eyes closed.

Honda manual trannies are fairly tough for what they are. You can run like 300 HP through without too much trouble. It's the users that wreck them, no fault of the trannies.

Also, there are plenty of guys in my city running EG/EK hatchback civics in the 10s, 11s, and 12s, in the 1/2. In a lot of ways the Honda D and B engines are like chevy motors. Simple, easy to fix with hand tools. Then you've got the H22 and K series motors, like the LS motors 🙂. You drop a NA K-series motor in a civic hatch and you can run 11s 🙂 They definately aren't fast in stock form. But neither are G-bodys! 🙂 But they are fun 🙂

I co-sign the awesome-ness of the h, & k series motors

I'm not into hondas, but recently got into vw's. If you go on the vw forums with a set of trashy wheels and a fart can, the other members will cut you up like no other. The real vw enthusiasts are all about factory plus looks. I wouldnt buy any other wheels than nice factory wheels, BBS, ronal, or old school enkei's for mine. Granted there are alot of 'tards out there who put a fart can and stupid stuff like that on their vw, but the real enthusiasts are there. Mines gonna be low 'n slow come springtime. '81 rabbit.
