Idle trouble

I think I have the same type of problem. Like when I put the car In gear it kinda picks up fast w/o touching the gas I know I sound like a noob because I am idk if it is something actually wrong or not it idles kinda high when its in park but I mean othen then that its ok. I really don't have any clue what it could be.

It is normal for a car to idle a little higher in park than in drive, which is why you set the idle speed in drive. But it sounds like you may have a vacuum leak which can cause a lean surge. Qjets often have worn out throttle shaft bores that causes vacuum leaks that reeks havoc with the idle circuits. The fix is to drill out the throttle shaft bores a little and install bushings to stop leaks. The first carb rebuilder I took this carb to screwed it up and cracked the base plate.

Other parts can also leak vacuum like vacuum hoses, brake booster, intake manifold gaskets, etc. But the throttle shaft is the worst vacuum leak and takes a expert carb shop to repair.
