Ignition coil differences

That's a great site, jackpot for HEI stuff. I went through my boxes of old parts and found a "Dyna Mod" ignition module. Looked up their website and it doesn't specify Pontiac, chevy etc. It just says all GM HEI/non computer controlled. Says it provides a hotter longer dwell and spark. It's probably just the 990 module with a Dyna Mod sticker on it. Anyways I installed it with some fresh thermal compound, put the right coil in, now just working with the centrifugal weights again. Runs great, just need to stop the advancing above 36 degrees.

Another question, I've read that certain Pontiac heads perform better if the timing is limited at lower rpm and other heads need more timing at lower rpm due to velocity, CR, etc. Have you heard this, or is it a little too rediculous to worry about that on a mid 12 second car that's hardly going to see the track very often again?
