I’m considering swapping to a newer distributor

my 87 el camino is getting a new 350 installed soon and I need to know if either a camgear from a 89-90 350 vette will work with a hydraulic roller cam

or can I just use the entire distributor from the same year vette which has a hyd roller cam stock

I’m keeping the ccc system along with the ecm so I’m also wondering if the ecm will plug into that vette distributor

even if it plugs in I don't think the distributor will talk to the ecm. If the distributor was working with a roller cam it would be a melonized gear and will work with your roller cam. I find brass gears wear out too fast

Because I’m lucky enough to have a great running system
If I have to though I’ll buy a new carb and distributor

Well if you are replacing everything........ engine, carb, and distributor your reason of it being a great running system doesnt make any sense.

The distributor from the vette will not work

and the carb will have to be tuned or replaced to take advantage of the newer engine

If everything was so great running why did you change it?
