Impala SS Rear Sway Bar in a Gbody

That might have been shotguns car. I think maybe it was his wagon?
 
why not just get a sway bar from a g-body car? there not had to find and you dont need to dick around with all that fab. work. nice nevertheless

I agree. I picked one up at a junk yard for $50. Plus the guy threw in a GP brace for my car too.

Yep, that was me. :lol:

When I got the car it had and aftermarket 1" bar on it that mounted similar to how streetworkxs did his.

I have also seen aftermarket Abody bars that mount the same way.

I think this was a "cheap" way to adapt another style bar to a/g bodys before the aftermarket started making specific ones for our cars.

The double bar was an experiment. Since the stock holes were not used, I figured what the hay.

It did really help in turns and the car launched straight but if you made a abrupt change in a turn, the tail would go out.I had fun "drifting" the car. :twisted:

It also could be a handfull in the rain if you did not know the car. I removed it since my wife and other people borrow the car from time to time and did not want anyone getting hurt.

What diameter is the bar?

Also did you attach it when the suspension was loaded and level?
