Inline fuel pump

I'm not a specialist on elcaminos but I did get drunk last night.
The top of the elcamino tanks are different than gbodys so the intank option isn't a drop in. I think you have to fab up brackets on an angle. But maybe I'm wrong.
Therefore an inline maybe easier if you get the correct one. Also depends on return or not.

I'd probably modify my stock fuel sending unit to take a walbro 255 in the tank before I put an inline in conjunction with the stock tank. They don't pull fuel well and usually have a short lifespan under these conditions. Unless you either get a proper fuel cell that feeds from the bottom or a bottom sump tank. I'm under the assumption you are keeping the stock efi with the 5.3, it's important to remember that the pump is supplying a constant 60 psi. Some people have good luck with the inlines, but I haven't had great luck with them in the world of ls swaps.

With that being said, you can either order a walbro 255 inline from walbro for 90$, or order it somewhere else and risk a counterfeit.

You can also order the electric fuel pump for a 1988-1989 Ford E350 Econoline from a parts supplier. It might save you a few bucks and is also an inline and will supply the proper PSI. We've used these in a pinch on race days when peoples inline pumps sh*t the bed, some continued to run them with good luck.

Just a reminder, all the soft rubber hose you have should be replaced with something rated for high pressure.
