I'm installing my heads today i bought from summit..i'm using the permatorque head gaskets..my main question is what intake gaskets are yall running for those who are running vortec heads and the Edelbrock Performer RPM vortec intake? i bought the Edelbrock intake gasket but from my research i see people using others and their experiences (Fel-pro, GM, etc..). Any personal info would help me a ton..

Another question i have is in regards to setting valve lash..this is my first build and i'm seeing different ways people are doing this..can yall chime in on the best way to set valve lash (order and all). if you can be as detailed as possible that would help me alot..i really don't want to F*CK this up..i'm sure you all can understand that.

Can't really answer the question except for all to beware of where some of these heads are made. The pro comp/prostar/PCM/ ? are made in China and are trouble so be sure what you got before you install them or anyone buys whats out there. Good luck.

The way I set valves-0-clearence then one half turn more...when both valves are closed lifter down position twist pushrod while tightening bolt this will tell you when your at zero. If pushrod dont turn to tight..you want just a little resistence ...hope this helps

EOIC(exhaust open Intake closed)- You can start anywhere but I like to start at TDC #1 cylinder...with manifold off turn motor slowly until an exhaust lifter begins to rise and adjust the intake rocker of that cylinder to zero lash then .5-.75 a turn more, keep turning the motor over and you will see the intake lifter rise and then begin to close. When that intake lifter of that same cylinder is almost closed adjust exhaust rocker to zero lash then .5-.75 turn. Move on to next cylinder keep turning the motor over and you will see the next exhaust lifter rise and follow same steps. It will follow the firing order e.i if you just adjusted #1 the next one to come up will be 8 then 4, 3,6,5,7,2

From what I've read, idk about all of them. But apparently the Summit vortecs are actually made by Dart.
