I have seen other guys do it on TV. So I know it can be done but can some one run down the steps to removing the Front Cap on a G-Body? Just to make sure we are all on the same topic. I am talking about what it takes to remove the HOOD, Fenders, and Grille as a unit.
It makes doing a motor swap a Whole lot easier this way. Especially if you are planning on maybe removing the Air Conditioning box or maybe doing some suspension work around the same time as the motor swap. I realize you are gonna need a few friends to help with the lifting , but what I don't know is the exact location of the essential bolts that are needed to be removed without disassembeling each piece seperately. Thanks guys.( Maybe this info is somewhere on the web, but I havn't seen it here as a step by step process.)

I would think removing the rad and one bolt on each side for the hood hinge so you can swing the hood towards the back to give access to remove and install an engine would be easier than removing and reinstalling the front clip..just saying..

Re: Instructions on Removing the Front Clip

I just take my hood off and of coarse pulled the radiator out to get my big block in and out and I also replaced my whole ac/heater case with a non ac heater case that I modified to fit my engine with nothing more than the hood off, no issues at all.
