GP403 just put dimable LED's in his cluster but I think if you go to the next page he says he took them out. I'm pretty sure somewhere in there within a few pages of this link he gives the source where he got the LED'S.

https://www.gbodyforum.com/threads/project-blue-book-87-cutlass.57731/page-6

and in that thread here is GP403's review of the LED lights...."Well, said the heck with the dimmable LED's in the dash because they really didn't make much difference. The ones I put in basically stay on all the time anyway. I need to go brighter, too. Got the dash all buttoned back up."

The sport comp II Autogauge gauges I have with the LED are very bright, I had my temp guage go bad and I could not find another sport comp II to replace it so I got another Autoguage which has a light bulb. I changed that light bulb for an LED trying to make it similar to the other gauges. It is not even close to the other gauges as far as brightness goes.I think a halogen bulb would be brighter than than the LED but I'm going to get another sport comp II to replace that temp gauge

Are ALL the stock bulbs used to get my gauges lit up like they are supposed to be 194's? My 84 El Camino dash is almost unlit

yeah they weren't really very "dimmable" at all. The change was barely noticable. Maybe a case of bad eBay descriptions (they did come straight from China) or something. The gauges were never really that bright from the factory anyway, not like what you're used to in today's cars that's for sure. I just left the LEDs in there because they are plenty bright, at least as good as the original bulbs, but yeah, I need to find a way to make them brighter also.....
