Here they will nail you 10 kilometers over the limit. That's 6 mph. The insurance companies don't care of you get nailed for 10 or 30 over. I know of someone who got 3 tickets in about a year and 1/2, all for 10 kilometers over and his insurance went up almost 2 grand. That is bs, It's a scam and that's all it is

it's the price you pay for having a lead foot. not sure how that's a scam if you dont speed. i get what you're saying and i dont disagree but there is a flip side to this, the only way to win the game is to not play the game. run a red light and you get a ticket, speed and you get a ticket. i dont see many people getting pulled over for speeding who were actually not speeding. i dont see people getting pulled over for running a red light when they didnt.

if you speed and you get a ticket and your rates go up you scammed yourself. you might as well stay home and have a bonfire in the backyard and throw your check book into it.
you have a valid point(s)...but you seemed to have forgotten one thing.....most of the small towns where I live make lots of revenue off of the tickets they issue on the highway on the outskirts of town....ya know...away from the main drag where all the crime and business is....because crime is so low that they have nothing else to do...so they catch speeder on there 5 mile stretch of highway going by their exit.... the speed limit drops from 55 to 45 near the exit....and goes back up again a mile or two down the road..... just a joke.... and a waste of taxpayers dollars. The road is so crowded, its almost impossible to go any faster than 55mph anyway.....but they sit there everyday...while the rest of the town is left to fend for itself .... luckily...we dont have much crime here...cause if we did...the crooks would never get caught.... :blam:

I don't consider 6 mph over speeding. If you get into the car in the morning and didn't have the best sleep would you consider yourself impaired?

well said and I agree with the 95% ... but I would have to say that speed of the traffic is relative to the amount of that traffic, at least on the highways....so, if the traffic is heavy, but moving 70 miles an hour in a 60 mph zone...and one dude is going 60 because he doesnt want a ticket, .. well, he has become more of a hazard than the speeders. My advice....do the speed limit and/or keep up with the traffic, or just get off the interstate....and take the scenic route....

if all your friends were jumping off a bridge would you? if everyone else is speeding then everyone else is creating a hazard, not the person not speeding. maybe if people left the house a few minutes earlier they wouldnt feel the need to drive like jeff gordon every time they get in their vehicle? maybe they should make it harder to get a license so lead footed people arent able to put everyone else at risk with their asinine driving habits? i'm not sure when people started blaming the safer drivers for not jumping on the speeding band wagon but it's pretty stupid to blame someone else for your own actions. i'm not saying that's what you're doing but there seems to be a lack of self responsibility when it comes to driving. lots of people quick to point the finger at everyone else but themselves when they get a ticket or their insurance goes up or their car gets wrecked...

i cant stand driving anymore, people are rude, ignorant and half of them seemingly put themselves and others at risk for the dumbest reasons. stop playing with the radio, quit texting your friend, quit putting your damn make up on, try shaving at home and wake up 15 minutes earlier next time. is it really that much to ask that everyone pay the **** attention to what they're doing and accept the consequences for their own actions when they **** up?

admittedly i've had A ticket and it was completely my fault. i paid the ticket and accepted what i did. it taught me a lesson, it's not worth speeding. that ticket was well over a decade ago and i've had zero accidents that were my fault and 2 that were caused by someone else. those 2 were in my very first year of driving and havent had one since. i know how people drive and i try to give others a wide berth as i know how stupid people are. they love to drive in the fast lane and just second before they miss their exit they cut in front of others and then give them attitude when they get honked at for it.

like i said i drove for a living and i'm glad i dont do it anymore. i almost wish i didnt have to drive at all. after seeing all the bullshit i've seen on highways and country roads i've become extremely cynical of drivers and driving in general. there's nothing like being parked on a major interstate for over an hour because some jackass caused an accident.

#1 reason for accidents? inattention. that's right, simply not paying attention causes more accidents than anything else! and people b*tch about their premiums going up. blame the *ssh*les who cant drive like they want to see tomorrow.

yes. if you cannot stay awake completely you might as well be drunk. sleeping at the wheel kills people too. i've driven while tired and i hated it. i knew it wasnt safe but i did it. now because nothing happened does that make it ok? not for a second! not even if it's one time is it ever ok.

there's a reason why truckers are now required by law after so many hours of driving to pull off the road for X amount of time.

bordering dangerously on the political, but I'm leaving it be for now.

Also, I have one each of these....

which helps avoid the situation altogether. although these annoying construction message signs with the radar traffic counters on them are annoying as fuark.

6 mph over the limit and you think they are driving like jeff gordon? 6 mph over the limit and you think that they have a lead foot? 6 mph over the limit and I am irresponsible? I can understand why you don't like driving anymore but I think you should give us people who do like to drive some slack.

most of my driving was done either on highways or going from one small town to another so i'm familiar with both kinds of situations. i know how that is and it's dumb as hell and i dont see an answer to it but i see a way to make sure they never get my money, do the speed limit, use your signal, dont give them an excuse to pull you over. i know how small town cops do their thing and it's retarded. i liken it extortion really.

honestly it's a problem from both sides of the fence, the driver and the law. they both have a common trait though, they seem to think they can do whatever they want without reprisal. unfortunately that only holds true for one side.

clearly you dont drive where i do. people here tend to have two speeds, well below the speed limit (THAT is wrong and bullshit!) and those who go at least 15 over. both are morons.
