This last weekend I scored a IROC xh steering box off a 91 camaro for 50 bucks. It was a straight across swap besides ps line adapter fittings, 78 and 79 cars have flare fittings and 80 on up use metric o-ring. I also had to ditch the camaro pitman arm for the bu's. My car is alot more fun to drive now and doesn't feel like im steering a boat around corners. For anyone interested the xh box is 12.7:1 ratio vs (correct me if I'm wrong) stock 16.7:1, its also alot higher effort and is 2.5 turns lock to lock. Also, I got the fittings from Lee steering in cali. They were great to deal with, provided me with lots of info and had my parts to me in 3 days.

That's good to know that it actually make a difference. I just got mine from FedEx today and I'm eager to get home so I can check it out. The one I got is from an '87 with 2.25 turns lock-to-lock and I got the 36mm bar with it.

Yea the difference is like night and day. I had to re-bleed the system after driving around last night and the steering wheel is off center now but I plan on fixing that with a grant wheel on a detachable hub.

It's definitely a "must do" mod if you enjoy a car with good handling and responsive road feel. I've had a MCSS box in my car for 10 yrs now. I love the feel of it linked up with the Cherokee intermediate shaft.
I've never gotten around to re-valve the power steering pump yet. But I kinda got used to the slightly harder, unassisted steering feel.
