Buy it! The heads are worth that alone. If you do plan to rebuild it, keep in mind the rings are quite expensive for it.

I would buy it! If the block and heads are salvageable then you're ahead of the game 8) The block is a roller cam and depending whether you keeping it fuel injected or not it's definitely a upgrade! With a good cam you could easily have around 300-400 hp depending on your emission standards.

if i get it i am considering keeping it fuel injected. is there any difference for a rebuild kit between this vortec and and say a standard 80's model 350? i ask because it was mentioned in this thread that the rings will cost some cash. thanks

definitely keep the EFI, it may not be an LS system but it's still a good one. you may want to get a new ecu if you do a lot of performance upgrades, the stock one probably is not reprogrammable. IIRC the newer mk4 ecu is fully programmable, plus there's aftermarket like FAST.

get it and strock it a 383 with vortec heads a 750 carb =about 400 hp DO IT 😛
