Is stock SBC starter for 153 or 168 tooth flexplate

x2, and make sure the flexplate is in the right way. been there done that 🙁 is you take a close look at the starter/flexplate and manually extend the bendix drive, it should engage at least 1/2 of the flexplate. any less and it will try to turn it, but grind.
