Hey guys. Sorry for not chiming in more often, although I do love this forum! I can say that a phone call to Dick Miller may be helpful. I only say this because he doesn't keep secrets and will talk to you and give you good advice and insight for your build. I think that 700hp is a realistic number, but as mentioned by others...that will cost you some serious $$. I only chose the 496 over the 511 because my car is often on the street and the compression ration and drivability of the 496 is much better, without a big difference in performance. The main thing is putting money into the heads and bottom end. I let Dick Miller put money aside and build the baddest 496 he could make and he came up with an engine that made 650hp at 6100rpm and 657lb/ft at 4500rpm on 110 octane gas. My point is that 700hp is going to cost you some serious money unless you go on the spray.
