Hey I bought a car that needed some work and the previous owner had put a 1978 chevy 305 v8 (canada) "vin U" engine in a 2 door 267 1982 oldsmobile cutlass supreme "vin j". He never finished the job and i was left with the task of finding a carb and getting the vaccum system right etc (dad helped me). Right now theres a Rochester 2G two barrel carb on it and here's a question I had:
"if a manifold mounted bolt on hot air coil with two tubes is used to heat the choke thermostat during engine warm up cycle, where do the two tubes connect? One tube would likely connect to the carb thermostat"
Will likely use an electric choke but am still curious!? Also wondering if I need an air pump? Cutlass doesnt have one, but has a bracket for one and some of the vaccum diagrams show one with 2 ports, and other ones show it with 4 ports. Having trouble finding the correct vaccum diagram, maybe i have the wrong carb, or theres something missing, but something is off and theres no veccy label to work off, tried autozone and other places with no luck. Can anyone offer some insight? Thanks!
