Oh it gets better. Some will watch videos of other kids, watching other kids playing video games. Multi level ridiculousness.
Parasocial relationships. That’s what they call it. Think “parasitic.” Kids are forming fake friendships with these people on youtube. The youtuber won’t know they exist, but the fan will feel like they’re “spending time with them.” It’s not hard to fall into. I’ve been through it. These people are “professional friends” whether they see it or not.

I worked with a 23y/o guy that quit working after he figured out how to crack the youtube algorithm. He's doing 20k+/month playing video games.
