Jeep Question

The dealer doesn't have a ring either, they have never heard of a ring and there is nothing in my manual about a ring. I don't know where he got that one in the video. I'll pull the thermostat out this weekend and see what it opens at and if ti opens at 195º then it problem with housing. Another thing I thought is I don't know what mix is in there with the coolant. If i's too much coolant then it won't take the heat from the engine like water will so I wonder if that could be a problem. I"ll check that later today...

L.A.X-RATED, that is an interesting conversion but my Jeep is only transportation for me in the winters that you don't get.... :x

I can't figure out the percentage of coolant cause it off the chart on the tester which maxes out a -45. I guess I'll be dumping out some coolant to get it down to -35 which is 50/50

too weird !! This cold snap we're facing must be a PIA for ya !! Better double up on the socks LOL

I drove it for over an hour and went to a parts store to pick up a tester. In less than 15 minutes the rad cap wasn't even warm and there was no pressure which means the coolant wasn't hot. I can get the interior warm if I don't use the defrost cause the defrost setting doesn't recirculate the air in the interior. It gets the air from the exterior.

I checked the thermostat and it opens at 195º. And as for the guys who told me to flush the heater core I deserve a group slap in the head for not listening to you. A nice bath with vinegar the interior heat has much improved. As for the engine temp I am still try to get it up to at least 195º

Trying not to gloat but, been there , done that, got a t-shirt. That's why I regularly back flush my heater cores. Crud gets stuck and easily comes loose when you blow it out backwards. Still doesn't explain cold motor.

I'd like the heat up in the engine to get the best fuel mileage I can. For heat I got spoiled by my last jeep that gave me virtually no problems and lots of heat... 🙂
