I just have to ask, but what made you decide to paint the car before doing all of these other rust repairs?

Dusted off the cobwebs and started to work on a couple things on the car. Trimmed my donor panel for the drivers side floor/inner rocker down to just what I need from it. Unfortunately its a little bit rustier than I had hoped so if anyone has a nicer one, let me know. Otherwise I'll have to clean this one up and make it work.

Drivers side is getting closer to being ready to fit up new metal.

Kinda a messy picture but the red piece will be gone, the blue and green pieces will stay in place.

Just a matter of having the interest, the time, the energy and the money all at the same time to do it. Now that I'm not working stupid hours and I don't feel like I got hit by a bus when I get home from work, it's not so bad to work on it for an hour or two before dinner. And I don't have the old Ferd any more to constantly distract me. The new Ferd is fantastic and I really have no desire to do any crazy mods or work to it. I'm content with it the way it is.

I got underneath the car yesterday and just eyeballed the passenger side a bit. It's actually not as bad as I remembered it being so it shouldn't be as involved as the drivers side has been. New inner rocker is supposed to arrive Saturday via ups so once that gets here I'll start fitting up some pieces.

Inner rocker came today, looks like it should work fine.

I'm extremely sore, screwed up something in my upper torso and didn't feel up to bending and crouching underneath, so decided to switch gears a bit and pulled the rear axle and suspension out of the frame thats been sitting in the driveway since I pulled the body off. If anyone wants a free 7.5 open with 2.41 gears, let me know. Otherwise its going to scrap.

Removed the last bit of inner rocker that was still hanging on and fitted up the new panel. I'm happy enough with it. Not sure what I'm gonna do with the front drivers side body mount area, if anything. There's quite a few layers of metal there and its still plenty strong, just ugly. Might fab something and weld it over top, gotta think about it though.

Little by little. Trying to work on it for an hour or two a few days a week. Really wish someone was repopping those outer floor sections.
