That is the problem, everything else needs upgraded and all your money has already been spent.

All in good time. I can always make more money, I can't make more time. It's worth spending the money and doing it right the first time.

Do try to record the first start up after break in. Or the break in itself.

Small update, I have not picked up the engine yet, but it should be about ready to go. I dropped off the newly painted dipstick tube on Thursday because Bob wanted to verify that the stick was reading accurately. I did get to see the engine with the intake on and it is gorgeous. It had a bag over it though so I'm gonna make you wait for pictures. Weather forecast this week isn't looking promising but hopefully I'll get a long enough break of dry weather to pick it up and get it home. Bob's shop is only about 5 miles from my house. It's just the loading and unloading that takes time and I'd like to have someone with me if possible as an extra set of hands.

And I'm probably going to get classic plates which means no vanity plates, but that's no reason not to play around with the vanity plate availability checker lol-

If you have seen any of my posts in the 'what did you do to your g-body today?' thread, you've seen I've been fiddling around with my power steering pumps. I have two of them apart and I've taken the best parts from each one to make one good one. I've got a rebuild kit and I've soaked the main body in Evapo-Rust, I just need to press in the shaft sleeve now before I can put it back together. I have the reservoir, brackets and the pulleys in the Evapo-Rust now. I've got the refinishing process about down to a science- aircraft stripper to remove the old paint, hose off, soak in Evapo-Rust overnight or longer, scrub with wire brush and rinse, spray with brake parts cleaner, paint 3 coats of SEM Trim Black. The aircraft stripper and Evapo-Rust combination seem to produce results similar to bead blasting, just takes a little longer. As far as I know, SEM Trim Black is still the best semi/matte black finish you can buy, short of powder coating.

I'm trying to keep busy rebuilding that pump and painting some of the brackets because I'm anxious as hell to get the engine home and I'm basically just waiting on the weather now. The forecast says the next rain free day in Friday... Damn it!

Well it's home. Better pictures will come but the air was a little dusty in the basement so I didn't want to take the bag off if it just yet.
