I'm still waiting to receive payment for all the parts I've already bought. Two of the guys I trust are going to pay, but the other two haven't even bothered to contact me back yet. So now I'm sittin here wondering if I'll even be able to buy gifts. 😢

That sh*t isn't cool at all!
All it takes is a few people to ruin a good thing for everyone. Pay the man!

No I don't, I had to use my old one as a core. I can tell you though that the starter from the blazer/S10 is half the size and weighs 8lbs. compared to my old stock one which weight 18-20lbs.
thanks

Re: Junkyard PICS South Texas (Heading Back Out)

Little update guys, headin back out to the yard today as I need another transmission pan. Welded in a port for a temp sensor and put it right underneath the transmission filter. Anyways, mine is the shallow one from 1985, while the later ones were deeper to accomodate for the auxiliary pump. So snagging one of these should help solve my problem.

I will keep my eyes out for the parts requested by Jbreau, G-body_Vet, Drogg1, 79loserbu, and kuruption. I will send you guys a PM and let me know if your interested in getting these parts now or not. I will check my PM's mid to late morning and if you have not contacted me, I will not purchase the parts.

Letting people know now ahead of time that when I give a price, the majority of it is the cost of shipping plus the price of the part. I'll tack on $5-10 to help pay for gas for driving across town, so it's not like I'm making a profit out of this. I'm on the northwest side of san antonio while the yards are on the southside. I shouldn't have to explain my prices to anyone, but I had one member get upset because of the price I gave him, when the majority of it was shipping.

For example, Beermonkey asked for the manual steering box. Its heavy as hell so I expected the shipping to be a bit high. The scary part was when Oldsmoletick's trim piece for his malibu's deck lid cost only 2 bucks cheaper to ship than the steering box. Why? because of the length/size of the tube holding the trim compared to that of beermonkey's box.

So let me make it very clear now, if this is going to continue, I trust you all as men to stand by your word that you want these parts and will pay for them.
:soapbox:

Re: Junkyard PICS South Texas (Heading Back Out! Last Minute

People don't understand that shipping prices have gone through the roof in recent years, it's kinda sickening :puke: . Not to mention one has to remember this is the holiday season, which tends to have an impact on pricing. Being a private person trying to ship something vs a business is two totally different things too, businesses get a big break on cost (more than half the cost in many cases) which is why companies can offer free or low cost shipping. I know I've spent more $$ looking for that part, than it cost for me to have pat get it and ship it to me, so no complaints here, lol.

Re: Junkyard PICS South Texas (Heading Back Out! Last Minute

For those who I said I was going back a second time, the driveshaft shop bent me over an extra $30 claiming that one of the u-joints I put in had broken needle bearings in it. I call total BS on it as I checked and re-checked, but that extra bit of money prevented me from going to the junkyard a second time before coming up to Maine. By the time I go back, they should have more fresh inventory, which every wednesday of every week, they get added inventory and there's always 5-8 g-bodies going to the yards.

If anyone is interested, the edelbrock torker 2 intake is now for sale. Researched and decided that it would not work with my overall setup. If anyone is interested, I'm looking to get $70, that includes price and shipping. I paid $45 from the yard, so I'm essentially just asking for shipping cost lol. Let me know and appreciate the business I have had with two members so far. Only had one guy that basically stiffed me on this dash trim but whatever. If anyone is interested in the dash bezel insert, let me know. Looking to get $40, includes price and shipping. In good shape with one broken tab.

For those interested, I'm primarily doing these sales through paypal.

Pat,
No worries or hurries on my end ..I hope you have a great holiday and a safe return home....As far as the guys that didn't pay up as promised......peeps like that ruin it for all of us here...I'd call them out if I was you..Only saying 8)

Yeah I should call them out on it, but my military officer training has taught me that calling someone out like that really doesn't accomplish anything. If you guys had that dash trim bezel, what would you charge total, price and shipping, for it?

God bless you for that...When I was in the U.S. Navy I can tell you that if you didn't have your word you weren't much of anything......That woulda got your *ss kicked back in the day 8)
