what's the problem with it? It's still a topic, isn't like someone is posting for a part for sale from 2 yrs ago.

I spent some time on the car a month ago and started going through damn near everything again. I unhooked the vac hose to the egr and the stumble went away. None of the vac lines are plugged. I'm thinking it's either a bad solenoid, which is unlikely since it gets better unhooked. I really don't know how the egr system operates on these cars, if I did I'd be able to diagnose it more easily. If anyone knows please post. Everything else is pretty much done on the except the back brakes. Has minor issues like a/c not working and typical oil burning but seems very reliable for the most part. Put my old cd player in, cut up an old j/y radio bezel and ran a constant 12v for the memory from the fuse box. Got a set of some beat up old cragers but got good tires on them for free so I through those on for now. Stock wheels are in good shape but the tires are about shot. It won't take much to make it nice again, just needs some time spent on it. I'd say about 1k into it and it would be like new again. I still need a front passenger fender trim for it, got a driver side to trade if anyone has one.

Posts are entered around here when we get to them , whether it's hours or months.

On parts like egr valves that have diaphrams, they can leak & draw vacuum when hooked up. If you don't have vacuum tester, put a hose on it & suck on it.you should hear it open & not hiss if good. Also the valve itself can lose seal & cause rough idle.
Ps unless you get up into my level of customization, beat up old cragars are COOL.

I agree. The camper has to go, other than that it looks a like a solid Elky. I bet it seals better than the tonneaus though.

About the camper, still sitting outside the garage. Don't know what to do with it. Can't bring myself to throw it away, it's like new, but I really have no place to put it.

Sell or give it away on craigslist or kijiji, free and easy.

my regal used to do something similar it was the TPS it is the 3 prong connecter nearest the throttle linkage on my quadrajet i unplugged it and the problem went away so i just replaced my carb with a non emision controlled one the performance in power and fuel economy was greatly improved id give it a try just unplug the sensor while its running if idle improves the tps is at fault

my buddy has got a fancy 300 dollar volt meter with graphs and all this sh*t, I'm gonna have him check it next time he comes up. I think there may still be an issue somewhere cuz the idle just doesn't seem that smooth. Runs good and drives fine with the egr disconnected though. I noticed the car does puff blue smoke at idle, don't know if it's valve seals or the intake. As far as the camper goes, I've tried selling it. Didn't get one call. I guess it isn't hurting anything sitting outside, just don't want it getting damaged since it's in very nice shape.

Cool, the moderators would give you grief for doing it on another Forum I used to be on and lock the thread. I am glad to see that it isn't that way here. Thanks for the information I am still getting use to this forum.

I think it's time for the el camino to find a good home. The wife got into a minor accident with her daily driver and the passenger rear door no longer opens. I've wanted to hold out on getting her a newer car but I think the time is now. I have no place to store the car once I get her a replacement and I don't want the el camino sitting outside. This is a very easy project for someone. Lots of the mechanicals have been done. Only thing left is rear brake shoes and it still needs a right front fender trim. I've put a lot of new parts on and lightly used stuff from upgrading stock stuff on my GN. I still have the topper which will go with the car. I basically want to break even on it. 3500. If any interest don't hesitate to post.
