What's up guys? just a quick question...If you pull one spark plug wire at a time and your engine goes from tapping to knocking at a specific cylinder what are possible causes?
Okay. Everything I've read online says it should get quieter or go away completely if it was rod knock. Had me confusedid assume rod knock
What do you mean by camshaft speed?I would agree with that. Crankshaft or camshaft speed would be my next question.
Sounds like you Liked Used Cars enough to find a lot like in the movie...Don't hate me guys I'm going to reveal a dark part of my past with this one. When I was a used car dealer in highschool I learned if you had a motor with a rod knock you could ground the outer electrode to the inner on that cylinder and it would have a dead miss but not knock so I could unload it at the auction. So by pulling the plug wire on a rod knock would make it go away or at least quit down not get louder I think your issue requires at least a partial autopsy good luck and sorry for your loss
Exactly!are you saying when you pull the plug to a cylinder it goes from tapping to knocking?
