Largest wheel and tire

What is the largest wheel and widest tires that can be fitted onto a G boby without notching the frame? I am looking at some 17x8 reproduction Monte SS wheels and was thinkg about running either 245/45/R17 all around or 245/45 in front and 255/45 in the rear.

From what I've seen, 245/45-17s generally fit without much issue. That's probably the size I'm going to eventually go with.

I was looking at the Monte reproduction wheels but just saw these GTA wheels. Both are 17 in. The Monte wheels are 17x8 and the GTA is 17x9. Both are nice but now I am torn as to which to get.

Upon futher investigating not sure if the GTA wheels would fit easily. they are +12 offset and 5.5 backspacing.

I run 245/45/17 on all four. I do have an adapter to convert to ferd lug pattern on the front thats an inch thick.

New to forum.....going to buy old school 15" cragar ss....wondering what is the widest wheel I can put on the back and what backspace to use......also same on front...looking to use 6" on front...1985 Grand Prix....thanks

Depends on your package - need to know the cross section of the tire you want to use.

Since they're new and I'm shameless about pics...here is my setup.
17x7 front with 225/50/17 Nitto (17x8 with 245/45 should fit perfect)

17x8 rear with 4-1/2" BS and 255/45/17 Nitto's. I believe the repro SS wheels have less backspace which would be fine.
