That looks really nice. They look like Mach 1 rims, which are probably based off of something else anyways. Looks great, especially the black with machined face on the gray car.
The wheels are based off the Magnum 500 wheels that GM, Ford, and Mopar all used. Thanks for the compliments btw.

Test fitted some 295/50-15 rears on 15x10 Western Wheel Turbines on my Cutlass today. Seemed to have plenty of clearance all around ever with plenty of weight in the trunk and sagging factory V6 springs. Picked up the set of 4 for $100 with old tires.
I can't tell from your picture but how far do they stick out? IMO a 15" x 10" rim with a 295/50 should have clearance issues on a Cutlass without a frame notch.

You know I was worried. But I took it to the tire shop since I had to get some old wheel locks I didn't have the key for them. And sure enough, got the rears mounted with no issues. Drove it home with a trunk full of tools, the 2 old 16" wheels and tires, gallons of waters, big a$$ hydraulic jack, Jack stands. Maybe hundreds of pounds worth of stuff in the back. And going up and down steep driveways, around the streets never felt any rub at all. And believe me, I've had lowered cars that rub before. Well, I'll keep you guys updated. Here's some comparison pics with 16x8 with 225/60-16 vs 15x10 with 295/50-15. Helps that's it's not a crazy tall tire, just 26.6" tall. Also helps it's 4" if backspacing, 4.5" might require a frame notch from what I've read.

Instead of starting a new thread i am reviving this one. I am looking now at possibly using 275/40/17's on the rear but the rims I am looking at or 8" wide. would that tire work on that rim for would I need wider rims?

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm running 275/35/18 on all four corners with no rubbing at all.

I just got my 17X8 Vision gold 5 spokes with O offset and 4.5 BS. I test fit the wheels only to see clearances. In the rear I have 1.5 inches to the closest part of the frame. Would a 275 X50 clear the rear?

Just a semi-educated guess:
275/50R17 tires have a diameter of 27.8", a section width of 10.8", and a wheel diameter of 17".
Therefore, 10.8-8=2.8/2=1.4; it'll be tight.

So, I think, after doing some online research,it would just be better to just go with 17x9 rime for the Monte. THe only issue is I am very particular about the wheels and havn't liked what Ive seen so far. What wheels is everyine using?

I've got 17x8 245/45/17 front and 17x9 rear 275/40/17

I have run 17x8.5 275/40/17 front and 18x9.5 275x40/18 rear

275 was just too wide up front and rubbed on full lock, 245 fits perfect.

I would go 295/40/17 in the rear if I were to order tires again, i almost feel like 275/40/17 is too short in the back after running 275/40/18 and 295/50/16 drag radials in the past.

17x9 fit without issue in my experience. Only issue you run into is sidewall on 15" 60 series section tires with 10" wheels.

Originally I was going to do 255/45 but decided to go 275/40/17 on rear. I wanted the N90 wheels but with them only being 8”wide I don’t want issues with running that wide a tire on the rim.
