Looking at planning out some new mods for my Regal wagon and one thing I definitely want to do is some upgrading of the rear light area. They are somewhat hard to see being so low and I would hate for anyone to run into me. So my thought it keep it stock appearing but fit it up for LED taillights and an LED 3rd brake.

I have been doing some research over the past week and was wondering if anyone else has looked into this? Maybe I am missing something?

I have found a good piece of the 3rd brake I think. Check it out here...

I have not been able to find much for the brake lights. I am assuming that the el camino lights are the same. Please correct me if I am wrong. But I did find myself over on one of their websites and found that there were some possible options out there. The company is called Classis LEDS formerly NorthWest Mustangs and apparently if you contact the owner they are making later model el camino LED tails. Anyone have dealings with them?

Lets hear some ideas?!?!? 😀

thanks

I haven't seen LED's for the elcamino/wagons. They use the same lights. 78 is different than the 79-87 elky/wagon, but would work.

I have looked around into making custom LED lights. I have 2 set of taillights, so cutting one up was something I was going to try. I also have the air deflector, and have been thinking of a way to get a 3rd brake light in there. I am going to have to check out those links.

Just wait a few months, I am currently working with a company that makes LED taillights. They have my tail lights lights from my wagon and I have been working on this project with them now since November. This started out as a custom set for me but all the while I have been trying to get them to make these a production item. After much discussion, pictures of where the lights are located on the cars, how dim they are, showing there is interest, and how many cars/trucks  were made with them I was able to get them to commit to putting these into production.

Nothing is set in stone yet but its looking like these will be possibly ready to go into production by the fourth quarter of 2013 in the $200-$250 shipped range and will work inside the standard factory light housings with a sequential turn signal option as well. A little more pricey then the OPG option posted about but there kit works just like factory, this kit will include the sequential turn signals. Please be patient, as soon as I have anymore info I will make a post regarding them I am hopeful to have a video and or pictures of the prototype set soon. I do not have much more information then that at this time, but I can assure you it is in the works. This will be a quality built made in the USA kit to retrofit your lights at a great price that meets or exceeds DOT & SAE requirements.

Ed, didn't know you were doing that. The sequential was something I liked also. I won't be ready for the lights till 2014 anyhow, since I am trying to get the body work finished. Keep up posted!

I didn't want to mention anything until I knew it was possible, hate to get everyone's hopes up over nothing. I wont be ready for lights until the end of 2014 at the rate I'm going.
