Great score on the Lemans wagon. You've gotten all of us wagon freaks green with envy  . Can't beat the price ....geez...and you didn't even have to pull a gun on the owner either.
Good luck with it.

I may have to head westbound to find a nice clean wagon.

The original owner is a neighbor of one of my instructors, he bought the car when he retired from being a bus driver. He attempted to give it to his local high school but they refused it on the grounds it was too old. It was up on craiglist for a while for $1200 but he had no takers.
He contacted my Instructor at BCIT to see if the school would want it as a training vehicle and so he could get a tax voucher. We already had a '79 Malibu with a 267 so we turned him down. His last option was going to give it to the BC kidney foundation for the $100 tax voucher but my instructor talked him out of it and he promptly sold it to me after I agreed to give it a good home.

I just Purchased a 1981 2 door Lemans with a 400 SBC turbo 350 trans, I have photos on the computer but I have no Idea how to get them posted, can someone please help Thanks

1978 malibu 454 factory 4 speed 8.5 3:42,red buckets choo choo front, single celebrity lights, full suspension front & rear
PW,PDl,tilt,tach & gauges
1981 Pontiac Lemans 2 door 400 SBC turbo 350 (will be daily driver, thinking about making it a GTO) in my opinion it is the only gbody that would look right as a GTO, the GTO was always based on the lemans/tempest platform except for the last year 1974 it was on the ventura platform & of coarse the 2004-2006 was based on the australian Holden Manaro, the 1981 nose to me resembles a GTO the best but again that is just my opinion, it kind of resembles the firebird also
1985 Olds Cutlass 2 door black buckets full power, A/C (daily driver)
1990 454 SS pickup black w/Red buckets

1980 Safari with 105,5XX KM. Bought from the original owner for $100.00 CND (Did not forget to put a zero there, only 100 bucks)
265 Pontiac, Auto, 2.41 rear end. Very sparsely optioned car.

Plans for it originally were, a 400 cubic inch Pontiac with a THM350 and a 8.5" rear. Since Pontiac motors seem to be so uncommon around here those plans were scrapped in favor of a 350 SBC that someone is donating to me. It will most likely be fitted with a THM350 with a 3.23 rear or a 200R4 with a 3.55 rear.
All in due time though, I'm enjoying it as it is. The engine is in impeccable shape, just needed a new set of spark plugs, the float adjusted and a new fuel filter. It feels like it has way more then the 205 lb ft that it was advertised with.
The wife and I are going to use it as our camping vehicle, fold down the rear seats and roll out the sleeping bags. Beats a tent any day.

100 bucks. and its 100 canadian dollars! i hate you. i really do. pontiac wagons are some of my favs. i would kill for a safari wagon. bonne wagons are nice but lemans wagons are nicer. it's the front end, especially for the 81.

too bad lemans, grand am, grand lemans and safari wagons are pretty rare. heck i'm lucky to see a bonneville once every couple years. i would love to own one of each kind. that will never happen.

if you ever sell that wagon...i'll give ya 100 bucks for it, american too! lol

So being the 1981 was last year of the lemans wagon...how rare is it? It is still sitting in the barn...I also have a 1973 350 chevy motor ,ran good when pulled out, been sitting a while..will need at least a regasket job.Motor has around 12,000 miles on it ,30 over new pistons..bearings..ect. /700r4 trans and G-body headers that can go with it all for $1500

I am in Greeneville TN 37745 If interested please let me know.It has to go soon now..to many toys..

nice lemans guys. Here,s mineit,s an 81 that i,ve had for 2 years now. hopefully I will be ready to install a pontiac 400 by this spring
