Ok, I was looking at a couple things today.... My Cutlass, a '69 camaro in our shop and the mirrors on this Regal...

Now what I'm wondering is if the mirrors from the Camaro or something similar to the Regal's would work on my '80? Or if there is something that looks like either one that someone has used with luck. If possible I would like to just mount the mirrors where the old mirrors mounted (so I don't have to weld holes and repaint the door)... Then again this could just be a random idea that I'll never actually use....

But I think the mirrors would look sweet on my Cutlass... I like 'em better than the factory jobbies...

Those are factory mirrors on that Buick there.

There were a few styles available on G-bodies, those were the standard ones, and the more rounded, body colored ones were the "sport mirror" option.

Oh cool, I didn't even know that!

I just remembered though I've got the remote adjuster thing for the driver side mirror... SO there is probably a big hole that those mirrors won't cover up I'm guessin'....

I had a set of those on mine when I first got it...IIRC, the base will cover the hole just fine, as the base is the same size... I could be wrong, it's been 5 years since I put the sport mirrors on...

my 78 elky has only the driverside mirror, so i got a passenger one from the junkyard and wanted to put it on. i noticed theres a backing thats welded on the inside skin of the door. do i need to do this for the passenger side?

Cool.... Well since it covers the hole I might just have to find a couple and see how they look....

It seems like every G-Body at U Pull it has Sport Mirrors though....

I have Corvette mirrors on my GP,
which are also found on the 80s Camaros and Monte SS cars. If you go this rout, you're best off to pull some off the Monte because the base of the Mirror pillar will match your door contour, and you wont need filler.

My old 85 Bonneville had the basic chrome mirrors. I pulled them off before I got rid of it, just in case. And the Malibu I have now has the sport mirrors on it. I plan to swap them over in the next couple of weeks. With the look I'm going for, the sport mirrors just look out of place. By eyeballing them, they look like they should swap right over. Both sets of mine have the remote drivers mirror, so should be no problems. I'll post an update after I do the swap.

Very cool, I'd like to know if it's just an unscrew the old ones and screw on the new ones deal....

I like the chrome ones better than the sports mirrors too... I think they would look good on my '80
