Lets talk about mirrors.....

I love my sport mirrors. I'm very glad that my monte came stock with them. I have plenty of chrome on my CL anyways. I have mysterious scratches on the front of my driver's side one though. Cannot be explained.

my 78 elky has only the driverside mirror, so i got a passenger one from the junkyard and wanted to put it on. i noticed theres a backing thats welded on the inside skin of the door. do i need to do this for the passenger side?
anyone?

My wagon originally had a single chrome mirror. When I added the sport mirrors, the passenger door did not have the brace for the mirror. However, I would recommend adding or making one for it. using a piece of cardboard to make a form for the brace. Then cutout a piece of heavier gage sheetmetal (16ga) and fit it where the mirror will be mounted. You can then attach it using panel bond or epoxy.
My replacement RH door has the mirror brace because it came with both side mirrors.

Very cool, I'd like to know if it's just an unscrew the old ones and screw on the new ones deal....

I like the chrome ones better than the sports mirrors too... I think they would look good on my '80

I'll see if can find my old ones this weekend, and check to see.... think the sport mirrors just bolted in...

Cool, I'd appreciate that...
