Hard very smooth plastic. The mounting studs are small but are adequate. No trimming or fitting at all. Lightly sanded with 600 grit. Primer. Silver laquer. I drilled a 1/2” hole to mount the LED light that came with the part. Well worth the money.

Happy with it. Tried to restore the original but didn’t turn out well.

What is that one made of ? In older thread someone had one and he didnt like it because it wasnt straight. His was made of fiberglass, If I remember right Mike from Mikes Montes said his were a flexible plastic like the originals.

I broke down and ordered the other style from Mikes today. It will be here by Thursday and he said I could sent it back if I didnt like it but thats the only type hes ever sold. I saw the type you have on Summits website. A lot more $$ than the one from Mikes but I'll see how I like the way it looks.

Now that I have this and Im getting it ready for primer,I have to drill it for the light. Did yours come with a single LED ? Mine came with two. Im thinking I might put one on each side close to the top just because it looks like it wound be easier to drill the sides over the top. Looks like it would have plenty of room to clear the plate.

I used a single up top. Tight but fit fine and not very visible.
