Not bad considering all the things it includes. It does not say anything about warranty or what power this version is rated to handle. You may want more converter ie stall & anti ballooning which should not cost much more than the price they listed. Ideal stall depending mostly on the size motor, cam, & rear gear ratio. If you are using a big block with 500+ foot pounds of torque you will want/need a billet forward drum which I do not believe they offer.

I looked at Bowtie Overdrives a long time ago but chose www.extremeautomatics.com. And their are others but Bowtie seems to be a long standing and reputable company.

I guess I should have gave more details. The transmission is going behind a 350 olds rocket. 3.73 gear ratio. Posi rear end. I'm not sure how much I'm going to beef up that 350 rocket, but I'm guessing slightly above stock.
With that in mind, do you sill recommend more stall than the 2200?

And what is anti ballooning?

IMO 2,200 is appropriate for a mildly cammed 350. With that in mind you are not likely going to be spinning it hard enough or hitting it so hard that you will need an anti ballooning torque converter. Sounds like a nice responsive and relatively quick driver that should get decent mpg to boot. 8) IMO this sounds more fun than the typical drag car build that sits in the garage 50 weeks a year.

Take a look at Extreme Automatics. I know a few people that have their transmissions in their car, myself included. They are the only shop that will warrantee a 200-4r to 1000 HP. I know that is way more than most people will ever have but he also has a 500 HP & a 750 HP transmission. I am very happy with mine and so is everyone else I know that has one.

Will do. But outside the warranty, what do you think about the quote?

I have heard that Bowtie Overdrives is very anal about their warranties. A neighbor of mine lost 3rd gear in his 4L60 with less than 1000 miles on it. Bowtie Overdrives refused to honor the warranty because he installed it himself. The man has been ASE certified since the 80s!

As far as the price is concerned I paid about $500 less for my transmission and its better built. Check out the website and see for yourself. Extremeautomatics.com

I just checked out your link and I may be missing something but e tremendous automatic transmissions are more expensive than the ones at Bowtie Overdrives, not to mention it seems like I'm getting more with Bowtie as well. But like I said, I may be overlooking something too....

Compare this link to your trans and tell me what you think: http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/catalog ... ?ITEMID=12
