Looking for a Pontiac 301

A good running 301 is a direct swap-in. Problem solved. And it is plenty of motor for a G-body without going bonkers. Ironically, TURNA offered me a complete 301 and transmission not long ago. Maybe if he can still be PM'd he'd be glad to get rid if it.

ditto on just upgrading. it will cost the same, more parts availability, and by default you'll make more power.

And if you need to pass an inspection, most people wouldn't even know the difference between a 301 or a 455.

You guys are assuming the OP has the tools and the talent to perform an engine swap/upgrade. He may just need to get it running as cheaply as possible.
