Loud engine knock

Hey heres my problem I got a 87 cutlass with a 307 and I had a vac leak by the carb so I changed the gasket and when tighting the bolts I herd a crack and now ii have a loud knock. Im currently taking off the heads to check if anything in the heads anybody know what else to check . And the knocking had ping sound sound to it

did you drop anything down the intake?

I dont think so but I was thinking just mayby when they drilled the holes for the bolts mayby there was a 😀 piece that didnt fall off till I tightened the bolts also they had a holley adapter plate i removed since I got a quadrajet I changed bolts also but they was about 1/4 inch shorter which was 1/4 longer with the with adapptor removed
