hey guys,
I wanna drop my monte carlo as low as i can, but air ride/hydros don't fit the budget... can anyone point me in the directions of the best bang for my buck... coils and shocks.. thanks jason

The cheapest option would be springs front and rear, but most of the lowering springs out there usually lower the car about an inch or so. Alot of guys run factory springs in a different rate, I just bought front springs for my regal Moog part #5658 these are what seems to be recommended for the front. I do not remember the number for the rear springs. Do a search on here or a google search it will give you all the info for the springs everyone uses.

the lowest Moog rear spring is supposed to be #5413
you can also use aftermarket S-10 lowering springs for G-bodies, but you have to take into consideration the difference of weight over the front end between a 4 or 6 cylinder S10 and a 6 or 8 cylinder Gbody.....2" drop springs for a V6 S10, should be more like 3" for a V8 Gbody.
There are also drop spindles available for gbodies. Supposedly the S10 spindles are exactly the same.

I have a set of belltech drop springs that will give ya 1" drop, then you could add a set of 2" drop spindles as money permits, and then you could cut a coil out of the rear springs to match the front drop with the spindles in. The springs have about 700 miles on them, I could do $150 shipped to ya. They are about $300 new, just let me know if you have any questions or wan the springs.

I've got 2" OPGI drop springs all around my 79 Monte. I've also got the SC&C Stage II+ kit on the front end, which drops it just a bit more than the rear. The car is also sitting on bilsteins. Practically, the 2" drop is good for me; I daily drive the car (my excuse for the dirt haha-I took this pic after work today) and scrape on speed bumps and mildly steep driveways. Aesthetically, I wouldn't mind if it was slightly lower though. I'm also going to get 17" Cragars and 8.5" wide tires next year after deployment, so that'll hopefully fill it out.

Let me know if you need more pics.
