LS Grand Am Frame Strengthening Questions

I had to replace both frame rails behind my rear wheels, mind you never welded before but too dumb to know not to take on the project. I knew I had to weld a bunch including boxing the frame and replacing floor pan and both a pillar’s so I bought a decent welder and replacement sheet metal parts( not cheap). But I’m saving so much and as long as there is good penetration the ugly can be grinded out. Seem sealed and painted. I’d have to say even though it’s a lot more work I’m glad I went with a frame off.
