I've heard a wagon tanks with a 93-94 astro van fuel pump/fuel sender hanger assembly works with some mods or adjustments. or possibly stock tank with external pump and maybe a holley hydromat pick up screen. the wagon fuel tank is taller and there for a smaller foot print, you should be able to the fuel level down pretty low before it sucks air while turning corners.

The late 80's to early 90's b-body wagon tanks are a good fit in el camino's, should be same for wagon. 25 gal plastic tank.

Does this mean a tank from a LT1 equipped Caprice or Roadmaster wagon would fit in the 79 Malibu wagon?

I would love that approach since they have the same power plant we’re using in this swap. Hence the pumps that go in them would typically be the same style system that the 94 Camaro used.

This a perfect example of how we prefer to use as many oem parts as possible (regardless of what car they came from)

I wish the b body tank worked, I'd be set. Unfortunately that is not the case. The original tank has to share space with the spare tire well. If you remove the spare tire well, then it may work.

I found what I think is an el Camino tank. Is this it? Flat across the back. If so, Olds Joe is right that it won’t fit. The wagon has a spare tire well in the back.

Here are pics of the modified radiator top plate from a camaro that i used to hold an lt1 camaro radiator and fans for my caballero. The original on the right had its ribs removed and then heated to adjust its angle. This allows use of factory style camaro lt1 radiator hoses.

You either had low pressure tbi or high pressure pumps in tank. Sending unit is same, either pump will fit. As said, they fit the elco, so should fit the wagon.

The nominal fuel pressure spec for an LT1 is 43.5 psi which is lower than LS set ups (Typically 58 psi). As noted, most non TBI pumps will work fine as long as you have the right fuel pressure regulator for the LT1.

Yes, that looks like el camino tank in pic. If b-body wagon tank can't be used, holley now makes a drop in g-body sized sending unit. The hydramat as mentioned sounds like a good thing. I'm pretty sure I'd heard of b-body tank used in wagon, but they may have modified that spare area.. I know frame size is similar to elco, but I'm a little wagon ignorant too. That's why I used term pretty sure.
I know some people in doing things on the cheap have used camaro tanks in swaps, not sure what that would involve.
The Lt1 fan setup looks pretty much like the LS I used. I got a cheap chrome early 70's s top plate (3mount bolts) & used it as a top plate, made brackets for bottom of fans to rad support.
