Not saying I support it, but it's been a slow forum for a while so I figured I'd add some controversy. I'm not really for it, but most of the potheads I have known are harmless losers and I don't think the crime is bad enough for the amount of money we spend on enforcement and incarceration. Then again, it ruins some people's lives, just like drinking. I personally don't want anything to do with it, but my Libertarian leanings make it a fun topic of discussion for me.

I'm not a smoker either, I use to be when I was younger, but I live in a lacks state where just having/using it is basically legal (21 grams or less is a ticket). I think it should be legal, legal to buy, legal to sell in stores and from your home.(tax number ect) It should be illegal to use it than drive. The biggest problemt here is if you smoked it an hour ago or a week ago its still in your system so theres no real way to prove if your under the influence or not. I'm all for it tho, legalize it why not whos it going to hurt?

This is a kinda tough subject for me. I dont smoke but I really dont have any problems with being around it or other people doing it. I almost see weed as being the same thing as alcohol. If you use it in moderation and dont put weed first before your other priorities, I see no problem with using it. The same can be said with alcohol. Then their are people that let weed and alcohol control their lives. They would rather get drunk or high than pay their bills. I know plenty of people who wont try to get a decent paying job just because they drug test, but will take the lower paying crappy job just so they dont get drug tested. This is where it gets tough for me. I actually think that alcohol is worse than weed. I guess I just see more worse affects from drinking. People get loud, violent, beligerent, think they are able to drive, etc. That also varys with different people. I guess from what I see from potheads is mainly that they just relax and dont cause much harm. I guess what I am trying to say is I dont see why one is legal and the other isnt. They should both be illegal or both be legal.

but isnt weed more addictive than alchol? doesnt it make you crave more powerfull drugs? alchol once your drunk, your drunk, but with weed, isnt it true that the high starts wearing off faster and you start craving a longer high- thus making you want harder more dangerous drugs?

weed isn't addictive its just a gateway drug by some people but most people never take the step and just like to enjoy smoking weed

I myself see no problem with it. Period. Like it was said earlier, it shouldn't be legal to smoke then drive but neither is alcohol, so where's the difference really at? A drunk is a mess and when he get's in his car he's a danger to everybody. A pothead, if he remember's where the hell he put his car in the first place, probably already forgot where he put his keys 8) 8) he'll be fine

Legalize it and tax it.

It's a personal responsibility issue. We don't need govt involved. If it were legal, beer would be cheaper....YAY!

I'll go for that! Beer is better anyway!

as said, there's no reason for it to be illegal. it's no more dangerous than alcohol, and i don't think it's anymore of a gateway than alcohol is. one good thing about weed and driving is that stoners tend to drive slower than drunks, that and they get lost in parking lots.
