Marijuana Legalization

Seems we've found a pretty controversial subject here. Only thing is it seems like more people are for it then not for it. And the only people that aren't for it can not seem to find any good, legitimate reason as to why not. Interesting topic. I'd like to make a poll to weigh it but am not sure how exactly. Someone?

i want to know how manypeople who are against it have actually tried it? if you listen to the crap saying that its a gateway drug, its addictive..... thats what it is, crap! i know more people who smike on a regular basis that live life just as anyonme else, just more relaxed. yea some people are addicted, its not from the weed, its them. i am addicted to my g bodies but they are not making it that way, its me! the rest of the illegal drugs i can totally understand and i agree with them not being legal because they can mess your life up pretty good. weed is no worse then drinking and it actually has health benifits, medical weed..... you dont hear about medical beer do you? if there is then i want some! lol

Oh...I more than just tried it... I tell people NOT to try it all the time, but as to legality I tend to think there may be a better use of resources than busting potheads. Then again, I really don't care too much as I stopped using it years ago. I just hate the overbearing policing that goes on. I have had a number of cars drug searched (once with dogs!) and they never found anything because I never had anything in those cars. I just find it irritating that the police use pot as an excuse to search and seize people's property when they were not harming anyone.

I have had been asked by the cops plenty of times if they can search my car and I say yes, and they never end up doing it! 😀

Im a stoner.. big deal, i have a pleasant and prosperous life that im happy with and i have no shame sharing my opinions about this..SO.you boys wanna know why its illegal? there is one BIG answer.. $$$$$$$$$$$$$MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$$, and among other things, its banned cause...
1.) it has a bizzzilllon uses, one CHEAP plant can provide us all these nice things.. from clothes to medicines, to textiles, to industrial uses, guess what? your killing a lot of businesses and jobs off by only have one plant creating everything..think about it.. back in the 30s, Dupont, the Cotton industry, and many other huge companies petitioned to ban it because it was killing their industry..hemp could be turned from plant to product, cheaper, faster, and more efficiently than another other raw product.
2.) it was a racist thing.. yes i used the R work.. it was a cheap high for the blacks back in the 1930s.. and do you think during this hard pressed time that was stemming deep into the segregation era, that anyone would want the blacks to have any pleasure?!?! Nooooo but we got a hell of a lot of cultural influence from them.. especially from their music 😉
3.) The govt cant really regulate it.. Now come on!! hows uncle Sam supposed to tax you for something you can simply grow anywhere? thats like them trying to tax dandelions.. you can theoretically grow pot anywhere..
4.) Remember prohibition? it lasted what almost 20yrs? yaa... another perfect example of how the govt. makes the dumbest decisions.. The govt outlawed alcohol one of the most deadliest drugs known to man but legalized it shorly after.. (i believe every being has to the right to put what they want in their bodies..but Booze is bad news..) Pot on the other hand seemed to replace that prohibition of booze.. see ill get to my point.. Alcohol on one hand caused men to beat their wives or spend their paychecks being depressed at the bar.. you get my point..

but pot (going back to banned reason #1 #2 and #3.. hurt businesses by being its own monopoly.. giving a mostly harmless pleasure..(except it was aimed more or less towards race) and its such a useful and easy growing crop its almost impossible to regulate hence the medicinal pot supporting states ALLOW Their patients to grow it on their own.. its pointless to buy something when it doesnt take much to grow or harvest..

Arrggg enough ranting.. im actually high right now as i type this to you fine folks 🙂 i hope what i posted made some sense and shared some light.. im sure others will add more info towards why its banned.. and seeing how being so good as pot is, is a bad thing in the eyes of greed.. with all the greedy powers that still exist in the US and the world.. sad to say that i dont think it will ever be completely legal but lets hope so. 🙂

The thing is, legalization would have to come from the FDA, not a vote. It is the FDA that classifies drugs, and since it is considered a class 1 narcotic, no use is considered legal--even though there are some real benefits for some people with certain conditions. If it were to be legal, I would want it to be regulated like alcohol, have to be 21, etc. The problem arises when trying to prove someone is actually under the influence while driving. Pot stays in your system long after the high wears off. So, a drug test may prove the presence of pot, but not the real state of intoxication of the individual. hat bothers me now is the newest test which can detect it in the skin up to 30 days after it was last used. So, someone could theoretically smoke a joint at the beginning of the month, be sober but still test positive for a DUI at the end of the month.

I should add, do we even want it legalized? What kind of extra taxes do you think the government will come up with for weed? How would it be sold, will it be legal for anyone to grow it? You know the government wont let this happen unless they get some kind of cut of the profits.

I really don't care either way. I no longer use it so it has little affect on me. I just don't want the cops searching my POS cars again.

everyone knows the only reason weed is illegal is because of big oil. They had to do somethign to slow down hemp taking over the country. (im not talking about potheads)
