I have that crimper and it works very well.

I've now switched to using the reduced diameter barrier hoses. The smaller OD of those hoses look better and are easier to route in the engine compartment. It did require me to buy a couple extra dies for the crimper though. The better way to go would have been to buy the more expensive kit that included the extra dies but I didn't know that when I originally bought my crimper.

I considered the the smaller hoses but with #12 AN hoses already running across my engine they are still on the small side plus they are only coming off the compressor and then going straight back.
Also for me whether it is a legitimate concern or not I thought the larger hose would be better insulated for the distance going to my trunk mount unit.

It wouldn't be a concern at all for the #10 suction line for sure and that one would have given you the most size advantage for using the reduced diameter hose.
Not much benefit for using reduced diameter for #6 line to be worth changing anyway. #6 is pretty small to begin with. It is worth it for the #8 pressure line though.

Btw, have you got a thread on that trunk unit install? Those look like really interesting idea and I'd like to see how you did that setup.

Yes I do.
I have brackets done and the compressor installed and have purchased everything except the footage of hose I will need once I get the mock ups done.
