I know the US free ways are a bit different, but in Ontario the free way speed limit is 62mph. So 90% of the time i cruised at around 2200ish RPM, which is a much nicer and more fuel efficient RPM. But occasionally i did use the fast lane, and 2.73 or 3.08 was nice for those.
It comes down to fuel efficiency. Timing can make a big difference too. All of my engines usually stay on the hairy edge of too much advance for maximum efficiency while cruising.
Also thought id mention, that the xe268 is what i would consider the maximum for a street driven mostly stock 350. Anything between what you picked and this cam will be awesome. I have this cam currently in a Gbody with T5 and 4.11 and its very fun to drive on the street.
