For my Monte I just wired in the 2 micro switches and then locked the column in park, since I have a full manual valve body and have to constantly shift to each gear I did not want anything but the cable connected to my shifter linkage.

My Tanny is a full manual valve body I just put the B&M trans park shift kit

Yes I bought a console and shifter plate from Dixie Restoration Depot

Not sure how the Mega mounts compared to a Quicksilver but take a look at this page. Look at the attachments. You'll need to click the expand in the top reply to see them. The measurements are at the bottom of the page. The shifter fits well in the console.

I personally love my Megashifter, it has worked great for many years slamming it through the gears.

I bought the console brackets from Mikes Montes. The front bracket is for a console without a floor shifter. FYI, you'll have to drill and slot the floor in front of the console to get the cable through the floor. It wont fit inside the console, too tight of an angle. I lined everything up, drilled the hole and slotted the floor with a die grinder because of the angle. I also had to drop the TH400 a little to fit the cable through. The transmission was too close to the floor. Couldnt get the end of the cable to clear it.

Ok I see, so any ideas of how I would set up the shifter with stock backdrive?
If I recall, you would actually retain the bracket that connects the backdrive rod to the selector shaft on the transmission. Then you would add the lever that comes with the shifter and attach the shift cable to that. ..if that makes sense to you. Doing it that way retains the use of the stock reverse light and neutral safety switch. No wires to cut and splice. You might have to run a lead for the shift indicator light...if supplied, of course.
Did your shifter come with an instruction sheet? It should cover that information.
If not, as suggested, go to the B&M site and I'm sure they have a PDF with the instructions.

Jack, after pulling whats left of my hair out with that stupid shifter I wound up buying a relay for the neutral safety. Do you remember how you wired it ? I thought I had the right plug but it wouldnt stop the car from turning over no matter how I ran the two wires.
Mich,
It's been quite awhile since I installed that shifter. I actually removed it , sold it , and reverted back to a stock Monte floor shift. In fact, I gave my wiring harness to the guy that bought the shifter. I'll check to see if I still have my notes available.

Thank guys you been a lot of help, keep the tips coming lol. Everything seems to line up I just need to add some spacers to the back bolts of the shifter. I do have the manual valve body so I will always be shifting gears. They pic are awesome. I’m really just trying to find the easiest way to install this shift so anything helps.
