Anyone know if plastic inner fenders were made for 78-80 GP's? I have metal obviously and I'd like to get some plastic to save weight if they exist.

I'm not sure if they ever did. This is a definate first as most of us with plastic fenders want to swap to metal ones. Much easier to paint and do body work on.

Easy for you to say coming from Texas where it's dry! Metal fenders are just one more thing to worry about rusting for me.

I agree, the metal inners are one more thing to rust out. I've been looking for an inner fender, but not the plastic wheelwell. I'm looking for the metel piece that the outer fender and the wheelwell bolt on to. I don't know what it's called, so I have a hard time searching for one. What would it be called? I'll post a pic later

Whenever you post that pic I'll let you know if I have what you're trying to describe. I just took apart another complete fender for my '78 and have extra pieces now.

it is called the inner fender brettlaage03. it goes fender, inner fender, then the plastic wheel well or splash guard. whichever you prefer.

I definitely want a set of metal wheel wells so i could smooth them out, i hate all the raised mounting points on the plastic ones.

That's what I thought, but when I search it on a few sites it comes up with results that say "plastic". So I figured they were talking about the wheel well. They don't show pics either. Does anyone repop them?

not that i know of. maybe gbodyparts... last i knew they were working on aluminum replacements, big $ tho.
