i still want a fuel efficient car. might go for a metro if i can find one. i used to drive them back when i was a courier. they had a small fleet of 2000 metros, they were actually not bad cars, they seem to get dirty really easy but that may have been because of the dirty couriers i had to share the cars with. but they ran well had decent pick up for an econo car and the gas mileage was unreal. ive not driven a car that got me so far on one tank like that thing did.

Or as 85 Cutlass was saying, Nissan's are good, But since you want something RWD, Why not find a good Nissan 240SX? I used to have one, They are a blast to drive, It's only a 4 banger so they are gas sippers, It's RWD, And if you want more power they make a pretty good Turbo kit for it. You can usually find a decent one for around $800. If you go this way, Find a 5-Speed, They are ALOT more fun than an automatic. And depending on what you want, They come in either a 2-door Coupe(harder to find) or a Hatchback(more common).

x2 on the 240sx. I had an 89 hatchback with a SOHC and a 5speed. Wish I wouldn't have sold it 🙁

That's what I had, Except mine was a coupe. Wish I haden't have sold mine either 😢 , I had alot of fun in that car, Plenty of room(in the front anyway), Decent power(140HP stock) and a good 5-Speed trans... *Sigh* Those were the good ol' days. But if ya want some good fun, With room to spare, Get a Hatchback 240SX, 89-94 are the best years(IMHO).

And the DOHC= KA24DE= indestructible. I should know, I redline shift mine 30-40 times a day and have...311,000 miles of pizza delivery on it. Simply one of the best engines ever made, and I'd put it up against a Toyota 22R any day!

Did I mention all KA's have Forged cranks and rods? Or that they use timing chains with an auto tensioner instead of a belt? Or that they are all solid lifter engines?

I still like the idea of stuffing a small block in a Chevette.

Chevette....the "other" Vette.
