I need a pin out of the two Grand Prix cluster connectors and the one Monte Carlo connector. I want to repin my montes wiring harness for the GP dash. It looks like I'll need to lengthen some wires too.

Stand in line.. That's also my plan.. Do you plan to use the GP gauges as well? I'm actually waiting for a copy of the wiring harness, and hope to go from there.
we could work together on that.

i do have the remnants of the pontiac wiring and started repinning the connectors. I just posted on another thread about it. where does the #16 pink w/black wire from the monte go into the pontiac connector? if someone could tell me that would be awsome. Also my Monte didn't have an alternater or generator light wire. I assume it never had one? Also it looks like i will have to lengthen the wires for the speedo/tach cluster. I see that you started a post before I did about it. Thats the one i posted the diagrams on. It's pretty easy other than having to make the wires longer. The Grand Prix dashes look way better than an old spray painted, cracked and broken Monte Carlo dash lol!

So you already started to re-pin the connectors. You're using the Monte Carlo harness, just re-pinning the plugs to correspond with the Pontiac gauges, etc.
So you're saying that some of the leads are too short to fit one of the connectors? I suppose you can strip a few of the leads off of the old Pontiac harness and splice, solder, and heat shrink them on.
Have you peeled back the outer wrap of the harness in order to work and conform the wiring?

I also prefer the Pontiac dash over the cracked and brittle Chevy dash. I didn't notice your posting of the wiring diagrams. I'll need to go back and find them.

Thanks Brett!

I did already repin all but one pink and black wire. The problem is that the connector doesnt reach over to the speedo cluster... BUT I have not unwrapped the harness. Maybe if i do they might reach. Fingers Crossed. The speedo cluster has two grounds. The monte has one for everything. The other GP cluster for the fuel, temp, oil, etc. also needs a ground as well as the illumination and two more ignition wires. I'm just gonna splice those in using the old pontiac wires and pins from the other harness.

Another Pontiac Grand Prix being raped for it's parts. Everybody likes to take Grand Prix parts and put them on their plain Gbody's to make it nicer, but nobody likes the car itself!?? If GM did it right the first time they would have made all the other Gbody's with all Pontiac parts which in my opinion are far more stylish. Just my 2 cents thrown in there for all the GP haters.

Whoa!! Hold on a second. No one is bashing or intentionally parting out GP's. I like GP's as well as the other G-body cars. My dash had been pulled at the junkyard many years ago. The car was a piece o' sh*t anyway.
Besides, good Chevy dashes have become extremely hard to find in good shape, and Pontiac dashes have been found to be in better shape cosmetically...and to add to that further, there's more placement for aftermarket gauges than your "plainjane" Chevy dash. So there, you have it. Pontiac dashes are way cool, and really help enhance the interior of our "plain" G-body cars.
Have you heard of the Mexican Monte Carlo SS? Well they came standard with the Pontiac style dash.

Oh, and thanks for the hijack.

I sure am glad I didn't take Grand Prix parts 😛 ! Thankfully, I got my parts (dash, console, buckets, heat shield for the AC box, aluminum core support, aluminum bumper supports, and the front clip) from a 1978 Grand Am  ! Actually from 2 Grand Am's that were to be scrapped out 🙁

Doug.
