hmmmmm, they didn't build a car in the 80's where everything worked perfectly....🤔
It doesn't have a power antenna, so it's possible..... 🙂

Come to think of it, I don't recall any 86 Monte SS having anything other than a fixed mast black antenna (V73). Were they even available with U75 power antenna?

It's right on the very first line. And all the RPO codes that followed. Your car was a dealer order for stock also. Which kinda doesn't mean squat, because all dealers ordered their cars. But I guess it means it wasn't a fleet order. Whatever "1AY" actually means. A dealer could have special ordered it for a customer, but that would make the RPO "1AZ". I haven't seen Olds use that RPO, so I'm not sure what that's really about.

Either way, whoever had the responsibility for ordering that dealer's stock, that guy knew what he was doing loading them out like that. Most dealers cheap out on the options.
According to this: https://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/RPO_(Regular_Production_Option)_GM_master_list
1AY 35017 P ORDER MODIFICATION STOCK 900709 P 1 1 A
1AZ 35018 P ORDER MODIFICATION ORDERS SOLD 900709 P 1 1 A

And this: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/history-originality/561435-rpo-1ay.html
1AY: Stock Orders Processing Option (DEALER ORDERED CAR)

You are correct in your reasoning.

Another interesting thing I've learned about Chevy is they love to put "NO CHARGE" for stuff that Olds would label as ".00" in the price. And they listed the "standard" equipment first thing as a 305 V8 with BV4, and then they listed again in the factory options list as "no charge". The same with the tires. Like they just wanted to fill up space. Interestingly enough, it's from the same plant they built other makes who did not do that. They have some weird paperwork requirements. It's amazing GM didn't get MORE things wrong trying to bounce back and forth like that during plant production.

Speaking of wrong on paperwork.....check out my 85 442's door jamb safety sticker...didn't even realize this until the other day when OldsDad was asking for GVWR weights. KG weights are off slightly. Doesn't add up. GAWR front should be 1046 KG and GAWR rear should be 1030 KG. 4577 lbs converts to 2076 kg rounded, so that's right.

Here's what I got so far- I have a couple of "Brag Book" sized (8.5 x 11) in a sheet protector. Ready to insert into a binder. Will finish off the full sized one tomorrow.

Note, the back side has removal instructions to give it an extra flavor like originals did. Go figure. Too bad most of the dealer prep guys didn't heed that. A few of them would, but not MY guy prepping the 85. They shredded it to bits getting it off. Soak. Then WAIT, then you can carefully peel them off. They wetted it, then immediately used a SCRAPER to get it off. WTF'ing F? There it sat all wadded up and wet on top of a 55 gallon drum. Anyway....
