Hey guys, quick question. I have an 86 Cutlass Supreme that had a 307 in it. I am dropping an sbc350 and wanted to know which motor mounts and pads to get. Also, does anyone know if the mounts will need to be moved from where the 307 sat to where the 350 will?

The Olds guys favorite question!
They are moved forward and only use 3 of the 4 mounting points.

You can get new frame mounts pretty cheap,
These are the frame mounts I used in my Regal and they are powdercoated.
For the upper clamshell a donor set from a SBC Gbody would be the best bet for getting the correct ones as there are different but similar looking ones for other applications.
But these might work.

Yeah, that question does piss us off. But the swirl port 307 is no prize and the great part is, you can hardly give away a sbc 350 thanks to the LS. Makes me smile.

Is there a trick to getting the bolts in besides cutting into the frame? Ive tried a socket extension and cant quite get the angle needed.

I used some "wobble" extensions and swivels to get in there and make sure the suspension is hanging,

Use a piece of string to pull the bolts thru from the bottom. Then put the nuts and washers on the inside. Push the mount all the way one direction to bind the bolds in place and tighten down. Slowly and equally.

This and use the hole in the front and rear of the crossmember, to hold the bolt head in place with a wrench.
