Is there anything I can do to stop the interference the 8225 coil causes in my radio? I know it is the coil causing it b/c I removed it and replaced it with stock style coil and problem went away...but I would like to use the 8225 coil that came with my streetfire distributor. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Double check your grounds. If all else fails they make filters that eliminate the static. MSD and Radio Shack have them.

I believe you are talking about the same thing that Autometer just had me install inline on tach to stop it from jumping. RFI suppressor I think it was called, bought at Radio Shack

How do you like that distributor? One just got put onto my car (haven't driven it yet, waiting for the exhaust). I hope I don't have the same problem with my CD player.

Most engine noise that is picked up by the radio is the ground, almost always in fact. Double-check, then check it again. RFI filters will go a long ways in improving it, but without proper ground they have limited effect.
Also, if you are getting more static through your antenna than you are playing CD/cassette then check your antenna ground.

The fishfinder on my boat was making a pinging sound on the radio. Radio Shack filter cured it.

I don't mind the distributor. Only thing I found I didn't like about it was that advance is controlled solely by weights and springs. There are no stop bushings so I have heard rumors about the 21 degrees of centrifugal advance turning into 24. I checked mine though and no problem 21 degrees all in. Next on the agenda is trying to figure out utilizing the vacuum advance with the stop plate.

I'm running an MSD E-curve distributor...no springs or weights, the curve and advance is set by two dials
