I had what I think was a digital 6AL on my thunderbird before I sold it, and unfortunately forgot to pull it off (along with the holley and dizzy) and I've always wanted to add one to my Regal. What box would you guys recommend? At the very least it has to have an adjustable rev limiter built in to the box. The one on my tbird had two little plastic screw things behind a cover to adjust the limit. Any help is appreciated. Engine is a 350 Buick, ~275-300horse, 375-400 torque. Shifted at 5500. Daily driver. 8.5-9:1 compression, HEI dizzy.

Alot of people seem to be avoiding MSD(Made in China apparently), l personally have one. Seems that in the strip circuit that people are talking about Daytona Sensor CD-1, l know afew guys using it and think it's the best second gen stuff. Price ?

If you're using the stock distributor then why not just get a rev limiter, it's half the price of a 6AL box. What transmission do you have that shifts at 5500 rpm?

I shift it manually. Just a TH350. Right now it's about 4500rpm WOT left in drive on the upshifts. What do I need to do to make shift at 5000-5500, or is it just simply a shift kit and modifying the governor? I do like the advantages that a 6AL box offers, including the rev limiter. That's just icing on the cake for me. But, is there really no benifet in running a 6AL with an HEI car? My '70 Tbird had it, but it had a points dizzy although it was converted to electronic. The car ran great, started first crank even after sitting a week. It was a good running car. I've driven older fords and cars in general with points dizzys, and they definitely ran different. My car just seemed stronger, and more responsive. Although I'm sure a properly setup HEI is as good, at least in my case.

I thought you had a tight budget and why do you shift it manually at 5500 rpm if it's your only daily driver that you rely on?

Plus I do like the fully adjustable, any time I want rev limiter, and not being locked into a certain RPM that the DUI units seem to be. With the two models of DUI (one states for marine use), the normal one is 6, 7, and 8,000rpm limits, and the marine is 5, 52, and 5500rpm.

These would use the pills similar to MSD you would just buy the RPM pill you need if the ones that come with it aren't what you want..
