Brought new by my granddad for my moms and pops back in 1985, they were the only owners until it was passed down to me prbly around 1999. Wasn't really feeling the car but as time went on and the offers to buy it became more and more, i decided to go ahead and get and see what i was working wit! Round 2002 right after I graduated High School, pops put it in the shop (Goodyear) and told them to fix whatever was wrong and make it drive able. Being my 1st car and me not being "mechanically inclined" i just hop'd in from there and whatever problems occurred i'd faced them then.

First thing I did was have an Viper alarm with remote start installed, had new speakers put in dash and back window and i rolled like that for a min. So after have the car for a few years and getting minor things fixed at a time like the headliner which had completely disintegrated after sitting in the baking sun for years, the motor had pretty much reached it's limit

So after that motor blew I purchsed a new engine and had it installed by the worst engine shop in Arkansas (didn't knw that at the time) for them to install the same exact thing that i had in there in the beginning (4.3L 262 cid V6 with Fuel Injection). it took them 6 months and $2,600 bucks!

Re: My 1985 Monte Carlo SC (Continuous Project)

So after filing a report with the BBB and sending my car back to the shop a few times, it was finally at a point were it was drivable again, not driving as i feel a new engine should be but drivable. So after getting my baby back first thing i did was put here in the paint shop cuz it was was past time for a new coat! So a guy i met while working at the DMV said he had a shop and would take care of me for a good price and i said lets do it!

Re: My 1985 Monte Carlo SC (Continuous Project)

So my next big thing i needed to do was get my wheels in order, I love the stock wheels that came with my monte but they were rusted and missing center caps so i needed to replace em until i can get em sandblasted and painted. I wasnt really seeing anything that i felt like would look good and not be too flashy! I work at a parole office and didnt wanna be pulling up on anything too big aswell. so i find a sight that let me match up a few different styles with my girl and saw those Iroc style of rims. I just had to get em!

So after wheels and paint i wanted to get my emblems back in order. Wasn't really feeling paying $150-$200 for a new hood ornament so i just stock with the sail emblems and "Monte Carlo" emblems

Re: My 1985 Monte Carlo SC (Continuous Project)

So i pretty much got all my emblems (minus my hood ornament) I'm gonna add a black and chrome chevy bowtie and a chorme Razorback to the trunk and once that's done i'll have my stripping redone down the sides (still debating on the stripping)

Also debating on tinting my windows, theres not a inch on there now
