Those viscount seats are awesome. I'd ditch those seat covers yesterday though haha.

What parts of MN do you call home?

Nice GP!
I’ll also add I really like those seats also! They are very comfortable and are so 70’s their bad *ss! I’ll have them redone just how they are. That’s down the road though, need to get the drivetrain up to par first!

Here are some picks of the first thing I did to this car. It had surface rust from sitting throughout the underside of roof.
So I stripped the surface rust and applied POR-15 , then applied a sound barrier. I’m now waiting for a headliner I ordered from stock Interiors, should get it any day now.

Before you ditch the heads I would check the casting number on them.

That is a really good intake to use on peanut oval port truck heads
That 454 runs great, doesn’t smoke at all. But it a slow *ss terd in that car. I believe those motors were only like 260hp and maybe 370 torque. That motor needs some good flowing aluminum heads and a decent cam to unleash it potential. If anything the way that motor is now, I bet that Holley strip dominator high rise is probably more of a hinderance than anything. Plus I can’t fit a air cleaner under the hood with it.
When I get another intake for it, I’ll sell you that one cheap if you want it?

let me know when u r ready

Here are some picks of the second thing I did to the car. It had two small patches of surface rust down in both sides of trunk. The very back bottom of inner fender wells. After sandblasting with crushed glass I was very happy to see I got to it before it did any damage to metal. Again I coated with POR-15 and top coated with low gloss enamel paint.

It looks real nice, congratulations on finding such a nice Pontiac.
I second the above comment about ditching that big Strip Dominator intake.
A dual plane would be better suited for a street car.
If you go with aluminum heads,IMO,the Air Flow Research line of heads are hands down the best off the shelf aftermarket heads available. The one issue you would have to take into account is the raised exhaust port. This can cause fitment issues with headers.
There are a few of us big block guys on the forum if you need any help.
If you do want to buy any engine parts I can highly recommend Mike "Wolfplace" Lewis in California;
https://www.lewisracingengines.com/
He can steer you in the right direction for head and cam combo's, or any other parts you might want.
Also,it will probably be a whole lot easier and cheaper to get a Ford 9 inch underneath.
Theres lots of parts and gear options available for them.

That engine demands a centrifugal supercharger.

Thanks for the info monte guy, this Gbody stuff is all new to me. Back in the early 80’s when I was in school we were buying 60’s muscle cars with little rust but still decent for cheap. $1000-$2000 bucks. They all had full frames, you didn’t really have to do much to the engines. They were pretty stout the way they were.
I think this car has real good potential and can sure use any help I can get to make it a head turner.
