They are about gone. Believe it or not I did most of the sanding by hand until I came to my senses. I probably would have been done if I used a sander. I even have one but it is the one with the velcro backing and the pads for that are outrages.
Here are some updates for my regal. did some more bodywork and got a few surprise car pics of my teachers car that he just got. Not everyday you get to see one of these. I cant wait till we start to repaint it.
It was cracked pretty bad. Wait till you see the finished results. Not to bad if I dont say so myself
These are just some pictures of me practicing painting at school. This is actually the color i sprayed for my interior but instead of using the satin clear I used real automotive clear sprayed from gun. Just wanted to see what it would look like with a little gloss.
And her she is the surprise vehicle. This car is so clean and nice. I love it because I think its rarer than the camaros because you never see any of these early firebirds. I can't wait till we start working on it. Its my teachers. I wish I was his son 🙁
Just a random picture from last year. It was snowing in Georgia. Anybody that know about Georgia knows that its crazy to get snow like this.
Keep up the good work. There was a guy (he passed on) who posted over at v8buick.com in the Buick V8s in Regals section who did an absolute show quality silver 78 regal with a Buick 455 in it. Do a search there or ask around and I bet you find pics and ideas that will inspire. It was a runner to.
There is a pic in my photo album of a flat black Olds I saved (started out two shades of brown & primer) that I put two Olds 15s on the back with two Olds 14s on the front. I only had two 15s and three 14s so I painted them the same used the third for the spare and they looked good. Much better than the weird offset oddballs & steelies missing the wire hubcaps they replaced. The kid I sold it to put 215/70/14s (25.9") on the fronts & 255/60/15s (27.0) on the rear and it looked real good. Still got that spare 500 btw. 😉

Thanks. I'll have to check it out. I dont even think I want a show quality car anymore because this car will be driven almost 365 days a year until I get a truck or another car. Bodywork is obsessive and Im not even that type. Half the very minor imperfections 90 percent wont see. I about to p.m. you about the motor.
I just got my new motor. Its a 430 with new crank, pistons, rings, all new bearing, camshaft and lifters, hv oil pump, double roller timing chain, new timing chain cover, 455 stage 1 heads redone completely redone with valve job and all new parts. I paid 350 for it but gave him 360(wow) because he gave me soo much extra stuff that I woulda have to pay out the azz for. Stuff he gave me are
Hei distributor(originally came with points), flywheel, motor mounts, original intake with thermo housing, alternator brackets, water pump, fuel pump, and some other extra stuff I cant remember. Basically almost everything I need to get it in and going for 350.
He just wanted his money back because he was building it for somebody else and the deal fell through because the guy sold his car and told him to sell the motor. He had receipts for everything and had the motor broken down so I or anybody else interested could see everything that had been done. He also put the motor back together right there on the spot and loaded it.
Funny part was he asked did I want a receipt for the purchase. I shoulda got one for ease of mind but I'm 110% sure its legit and he is. Dude was talking about every little thing on the motor from torquing intake to this and that. He also has pictures of all the buick motors he has built and had a GSX in his garage. I think I got the deal of the century. Well at least in my eyes.
Anyway here are the pictures. Enjoy
No thats not water in the motor. Its oil and assembly lube.
Ha yea its pretty big. I drove to atl then back home to columbus. with the back swinging like a trailer back there. Every time the motor moved the car swayed.
